In December 2000 the British Inflatable Hirers Alliance (BIHA) was launched to represent reputable inflatable hire companies (from “one-person-bands” up to large companies) involved in the inflatable hire industry in the UK.  From the outset, the BIHA has been established to give all members strength, unity, information and protection in this fast growing industry.  There are now over 1,600 members and growing daily.

 

The aims of the BIHA are very simple, we seek to help each member hire company a) Increase profits b) Reduce costs (especially PL insurance!) c) Operate more efficiently and safely by the pooling and sharing of information/ideas and d) Keeping members informed of new regulations/legislation, news, views, opportunities and developments within the inflatable hire industry. (We also ask that members adhere to a Code of Practice).

 

To achieve these aims we have created a large number of valuable benefits:

Directory of other inflatable hirers who are BIHA members.

Since the BIHA was launched in December 2000, more than 1,600 inflatable hire companies have joined, and numbers are still increasing daily. This gives opportunities for members to network together, providing support and practical resources for one another, and to “bounce” ideas off each other.  Developing new contacts / friendships is actively encouraged, and hirers experience less professional isolation.  Also, there are immense opportunities for the cross-pollination of business skills and technical know-how via a well-used message board.

 

Discounts on the purchase of Public Liability insurance and new bouncy castles / inflatables etc. (We have negotiated some good discounts with various well known suppliers exclusively for BIHA members)..  If all reputable inflatable hirers unite together, then the group has considerably more buying power, which will save money for all of us.

If you have a problem or question related to your business, you are not alone! You can post a message on the message board forum, or email the BIHA head-office for help and advice. The requirements to become a member of the BIHA are very straightforward: We require members to operate safe and clean inflatables, and maintain high standards of personal and professional integrity. We also ask that all members follow the BIHA Code of Conduct (See website for more details.)

In early 2001, one of our members gave the BIHA a simple but brilliant idea to dramatically increase all our profits.  It is by far the best idea that we have ever seen.  It is totally unique and only a tiny percentage of inflatable hirers (outside the BIHA) actually know about it.  As founder of the BIHA, I was given the privilege of testing this idea out on my customers in the summer of 2001.  To my surprise, the results were far better than I ever imagined.  My cash-flow and profits increased dramatically and it involved virtually no extra work.  (On some occasions, I simply asked the customer to set it up – which took them less than a minute and gave them something to do whilst I was busy setting up the inflatable!)
