My Name is Lee & I am the owner of Funbounce Entertainments. I run the website with my 2 small business partners Sophie & George. Despite Sophie & George only being only 2 & 3 years old they certainly don’t mind telling me what to do on a day to day basis and they certainly know what products are hot and what’s not.
The Start… I started Funbounce back in 2003 at the age of 17 whilst I worked on an apprenticeship scheme with Leeds City Council, attended Leeds University and worked part time at the local pub to help fund my education.
The formation of Funbounce was a complete accident. I was set the task of organising a bouncy castle for the pub In which I worked. The bouncy castle was to be placed in the beer garden for the long summer 8 week holidays and I was told she had a budget of only £500, which after ringing around for prices I soon realised was an impossible task as many hire companies were either fully booked or wouldn’t entertain the idea.
So later that evening by pure chance, I was reading the local paper were I saw an advert that simply stated “Bouncy castle for sale £600 ONO” Well I couldn’t believe my luck and 2 or 3 phone calls and a bit of negotiation later I had my very own bouncy castle and my very first customer. The Pub!
After the holidays passed and it was time for me to take the bouncy castle home I couldn’t help but think… what the heck have I bought this thing for and what am I going to do with it? but after a few days and a few laughs and jokes from members of my family & friends, one of them decided to hire it for a birthday, a few weeks later a 2nd member hired one, then a 3rd, 4th ,5th & 6th and before long they were all arguing about who was to have it & when so I bought another.. and another.. and another and before long my friends heard about it, then friends of friends heard about it and then the business grew and grew until I had around 5 or 6.
By this time, 3 years had passed I had finished my apprenticeship at Leeds City council, Qualified as an Engineer from Leeds University and the pub job was long gone so I had a bit of time again and turned back to the hire company and worked out a plan.
This plan was simple.. Expand!!!! and expand I did ensuring Funbounce Entertainments have evolved to be one of the largest & most competitively priced company’s to supply bouncy castles, Rodeo bulls, Bungee runs, Sumo suits, Gladiator duels, Inflatable bouncy slides, Inflatable bouncy assault courses, event management, promotional services and many other entertainment services in Leeds, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Halifax, York & the rest of the UK for both private and corporate occasions.
The middle… The last 18 months has seen Funbounce Entertainments grow from strength to strength and using the skills and knowledge acquired from my 8 years at Leeds City Council, Designing Roads & Bridges I turned to the design and manufacture of bouncy castles themselves by taking over one of the most respected manufacturing companies in the UK Betterbounce Direct.

As well as manufacturing high quality ‘standard’ units, Better Bounce Direct has two full time designers with over 20 years of experience in Computer Aided Design, 10 of which have been dedicated solely to the production of bouncy castles, inflatable’s & play structures for Better Bounce.
