Hiring to a Hall – what you must ask

Many people hire community halls and other halls (e.g. church halls) for their children’s birthday party. This is a great idea as inclement weather cannot affect the party. They also hire a bouncy castle or small slide for the hall. Unfortunately, the ceiling heights of some halls are too low for the bouncy castle or slide to be fully inflated. Unless the operator can replace the inflatable with one that fits the height of the hall quickly, then it could result in a lot of disappointed children & adults!

To prevent this problem from occurring, if the operator is not familiar with the hall, it is a very good idea to contact the caretaker of the hall (or the customer) and ask them to measure the ceiling height of the hall, or give as accurate an indication as possible.

If you are not able to do this for any reason (e.g. if the booking is short notice) then it is a good idea to try to bring an alternative inflatable that may not be as high.

It is also wise to find out all the heights of the halls in your geographical area well in advance of any bookings, so that when the day of the event arrives, it is one less thing you have to think about!
